PRODUCT EXPERIENCE
Digital identity starts with a human experience.
Identity workflows ask people to do something personal: put their face in front of a camera and wait while a system processes the image. The interface needs to explain that exchange without adding complexity.
The supplied DigiportID artwork establishes two essential moments: a face-framing capture experience and a processing state. This case study explores the design approach around these visible moments, rather than making claims about a live verification service.
Make a sensitive task feel understandable.
A strong approach makes the difficult parts visible before committing to the next step. These are the considerations that shape the work.
Capture confidence
People need to know where to look, how to frame their face and when to continue.
Waiting without ambiguity
Processing should communicate an ongoing task, not look like an unresponsive screen.
A connected journey
Capture, submission and feedback must feel like parts of the same product.
Design the journey, not just the camera.
The approach starts with a small set of explicit interface states. Capture guidance gives the user a clear task; submission acknowledges the action; processing explains what is happening next. Recovery and completion are design considerations to resolve before implementation.
What the approach brings together
Practical capabilities and considerations, organised around the purpose of this case.
Journey mapping
Connect entry, capture, submission and processing into a coherent sequence.
Capture guidance
Use face framing and concise instructions to explain the immediate task.
Processing feedback
Keep status visible while the submitted selfie is being processed.
Mobile hierarchy
Prioritise the camera area, status message and next action on a small screen.
State definitions
Describe loading, retry and completion states separately from the visual concept.
Interface language
Use direct, reassuring copy without promising a verification outcome.
Visual continuity
Carry consistent framing, contrast and spacing across the identity journey.
Recovery planning
Consider camera permission, interrupted capture and unsuccessful submission.
Handoff structure
Document state transitions and content requirements for implementation.
Validation questions
Identify what needs usability and technical validation before release.

01 / CAPTURE EXPERIENCE
A clear frame for a personal interaction.
The visible circular portrait frame establishes the main focal point. The surrounding interface can support it with practical guidance on lighting, positioning and the next action, while keeping the camera experience uncluttered.
Supplied DigiportID selfie and processing artwork.02 / PROCESSING STATES
Give the waiting moment a purpose.
After submission, the experience shifts from action to reassurance. A processing message acknowledges the selfie and explains that work is ongoing. Timing, retry behaviour and completion feedback remain implementation decisions, not claimed product results.

03 / PRODUCT HANDOFF
Turn the visual direction into an explicit flow.
A useful handoff goes beyond polished screens. It describes the action that starts each state, the content people see and the recovery path when something interrupts the journey. That creates a shared language between design and engineering.
Product narrative vision · Not deployment claims.Designed around clarity, continuity and care.
The visible experience is a starting point for product decisions. Any identity checks, storage behaviour, security controls or production results would need separate specification and evidence.
A considered digital-identity experience, from selfie capture to visible processing.
